CIPR Student Travel Grant for AoIR 2012 Internet Research Conference

The UW-Milwaukee Center for Information Policy Research (CIPR) is pleased to again offer a CIPR Student Award in Information Policy & Ethics, to sponsor one student (undergraduate, graduate or post-doc) for the Association of Internet Researchers IR 13 Conference in Salford, UK. The amount of the award is US$500.

The student’s research must focus on some aspect of information policy or ethics, and internet studies, broadly conceived. The recipient must have an accepted paper at IR12 and must attend to present the research.

To apply, please send the following documents to Dr. Michael Zimmer, CIPR Director, at zimmerm@uwm.edu:

  • Accepted paper abstract
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Brief statement describing how the paper/research will make an impact on the fields of information policy, ethics, and/or internet studies

Application deadline is August 31, 2012. Notification of award will be received by September 15.

The recipient should acknowledge the CIPR grant at IR13.

The Center for Information Policy Research (CIPR) is the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s multidisciplinary research center for the study of the intersections between the policy, ethical, political, social and legal aspects of the global information society. CIPR Sponsoring Student Grant for AoIR 11.0

The Center for Information Policy Research (CIPR) will sponsor one student (undergraduate, graduate or post-doc) in the amount of $800 (USD) for the 11th Association of Internet Researchers conference (AoIR 11.0) to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden from October 21 to 23, 2010.

Requirements:

  • The student’s research must focus on some aspect of information ethics or information policy, and internet studies, broadly conceived.
  • The recipient must submit a proposal for a paper according to AoIR procedures.
  • Once accepted, the following should be submitted to Elizabeth Buchanan at elizabeth@internetresearchethics.org: Paper Abstract, CV, and brief statement describing how the paper will make an impact on the fields of information ethics, policy, and internet studies.

Submissions should be received by 1 August 2010.

Recipient will be notified by 30 August 2010.

The recipient should acknowledge the CIPR grant at AoIR and in any subsequent presentations or publications.
